Detailed description of Woodlake Country Club, CLOSED 2018

Woodlake Golf & Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Woodlake Golf Course was designed by Edward Lawrence Packard and first opened for play in 1972.

The course has a traditional layout in a park-like setting.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,773 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,491 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 566 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 6, a 515-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Woodlake Golf Course is # 13, a 205 yard par-3.

The course closed in 2018.

Woodlake Country Club in Lakewood, N.J. has closed its doors, reported the Asbury Park Press. The closure, according to a statement from owner Matrix Development Group, is temporary, but whether the 150-acre space off New Hampshire Avenue will reopen for golf is uncertain.

“Matrix continues to own Woodlake Country Club,” the statement from a Matrix spokesperson said, the Press reported. “The demand for golf at the club has declined in recent years, and Matrix made the financial decision to temporarily close the club while the company determines the next best direction for the property.”%u200B

The staff members at Woodlake are rude and not helpful. The club members are even worse and are snooty.

The course itself is short and not in the greatest condition. The course is over-priced and there are better courses for less money within a 5 mile radius.

I would not recommend playing Woodlake.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby

The rough is in terrible shape. Sand traps are poorly kept. Cart paths are poorly maintained to say the least.
